Brief:
The client's brief was to provide a large family space which would incorporate kitchen, dining and living areas, and also to make the garden area more accessible to the house.

 

Design elements:
As the extension was on the rear of the cottage we had more flexibility in the design styles we could use. Deciding to go for a more modern look we designed the extension with large folding doors and Velux roof lights to allow light to fill the new room.

 

Materials and finishes:
Externally, a deep overhang finished with cedar strips and down-lighters enhances the modern design giving light to the outside space for evening dinning use.
